This TechNote gives you important instructions to be performed on each platform at which you want to deploy the DIObjects to avoid having licensing issue in runtime when running new versions from DIObject, which use the new Archestra License not suitelink.lic for example DIMBTCP 3.0 sp1 and DIABCIP 5.0, inside Wonderware Application Server 3.1 SP3 Patch 1. Event Details Service Control Manager (SCM) stops services and driver services. It also reports when services terminate unexpectedly or fail to restart after it takes corrective action. The World Wide Web Publishing Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). Note This problem does not occur on a server that is running Windows Server.
This article helps you resolve the problems where the SQL Server service and the SQL Server Agent Service may not start on a stand-alone server.

Issue 1: On a stand-alone server, the MSSQLSERVER service may fail to start, and you receive the following error message:
An error 1068 - (The dependency service or group failed to start.) occurred while performing this service operation on the MSSQLServer Service.

Issue 2: Similarly, the SQLServerAgent service may also fail to start, and you receive the following error message:
An error 1068 - (The dependency service or group failed to start.) occurred while performing this service operation on the SQLServerAgent Service.
Issue 1 and Issue 2 occur when both of the following conditions are true:
Virtual set for vmix download. High-resolution virtual studio set background for free download.Work with any media application. Format (PNG + JPG)Free TriCaster VSE (.psd)Free vMix virtual set version (for vMix)Image dimension 4K (4520 x 2540) TriCaster® users can import this Photoshop file into NewTek’s Virtual Set.
*The server computer is in a workgroup and not part of a domain.
*Both the MSSQLSERVER and SQLServerAgent services are set to use a domain account for the startup.

Issue 3: On a domain member server, the MSSQLSERVER service may not start during the server start, and you receive the following error message:
The MSSQLSERVER service was unable to log on as domainmssqlsvc with the currently configured password due to the following error: Source: NetLogon Description: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. The MSSQLSERVER service terminated unexpectedly.
This problem occurs when all the following conditions are true:
*The server is part of a domain.
*Both the MSSQLSERVER and SQLServerAgent services are set to use a domain account for the startup.
*The startup mode for the MSSQLSERVER and SQLServerAgent are set to Automatic.Cause
The Issue 1 and Issue 2 occurs because the server is a stand-alone computer, the NetLogon service does not start on the server, hence no domain-wide logon authentications are possible.
The Issue 3 occurs because SQL Server services try to start before NetLogon service starts.Resolution
To fix the Issue 1 and Issue 2, follow these steps:
*
Change the startup account of both the MSSQLSERVER and SQLServerAgent to use the local system account.
*
Restart the server.
To fix the Issue 3, use the following workarounds:
*
Configure the SQL Server startup to delayed start for particular Windows servers, other Windows services such as NetLogon complete first and SQL Server starts without problems.
*
Configure the SQL Server startup to retry, the startup can be completed on the second startup attempt.
*
Change the Duplicate Address Detection (-DadTransmits) value to 1 for all network interfaces on the server. See command Set-NetIPInterface for more information.
*
Change the Recovery options for SQL Server and SQL Server Agent services. Specify Restart the service as action for the failure options. You can perform this option from the Services applet of Administrative Tools using the familiar Service Control Manager interfaces.
If the delayed start option can’t fix this Issue 3, you can add the following dependencies to the SQL Server service:

*During AMS installation in silent mode, SMA is installed but the service is not enabled.

*If Windows Server 2016 Device Guard policy is enabled, AMS can be upgraded from an older version to a newer version, but it cannot be uninstalled. To uninstall AMS, the Device Guard policy needs to be temporarily disabled.
*AMS Control Panel applet “SNMP” tab does not show SNMP settings and does not allow test trap generation
when iLO5 encryption is set to SuiteB NSA mode. Please use iLO5->Management page as an alternate option
*AMS may exhibit slow memory consumption increase in Windows Task Manager. This is due to known WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) issue in Microsoft Windows. It is expected be fixed in future Microsoft Windows updates or versions. To slow down memory consumption either:
1. Restart the AMS service (type ’net stop ams’ followed by ’net start ams’ in a command prompt) ..OR..
2. Create a new DWORD registry value named PollInterval in registry’s HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServiceshpeamsParameters and set its value to higher than decimal 300. This value will determine how often (in seconds) AMS reads data from WMI.Upgrade Requirement:

About installation and enablement of SMA service:
*During AMS installation in interactive mode, there is pop up message to selectively install SMA.
*If Yes is selected, SMA service will be installed and set to running state.
*If No is selected, SMA service will be installed but the service is not enabled.
*During AMS installation in silent mode, SMA is installed but the service is not enabled.
*To enable SMA service at a later time, go to the following folder: %ProgramFiles%OEMAMSService (Typically c:Program FilesOEMAMSService) and execute ’EnableSma.bat /f’
*IMPORTANT: The SNMP service community name and permission must also be setup. This is not done by “EnableSma.bat”.
